Types of Places

A place may be reserved once pregnancy has been confirmed and the nursery will contact you once a space is available. The nursery adheres to Islington Councils Admissions policy when allocating nursery places. Places may not be allocated due to the length of time a child’s name has been on the waiting list. Priority must be given to Islington parents, those on a low income, children placed by Islington Council and siblings.

The nursery requires one month’s fees to secure your nursery place. Once a place has been allocated, you will receive an offer letter and will be asked to attend a registration meeting to complete the necessary paperwork and organise a settling period.

The children discover water, sand, play dough, printing and lots of other fun and exciting messy activities. We firmly believe that children learn through play and so we encourage imagination and creativity by using objects such as balloons, boxes and bags. Board books, music and finger rhymes help to develop listening skills and rhythm, and to recognise sounds.

As the babies grow to be toddlers there are some memorable milestones to enjoy- probably the most exciting being when they learn to walk. It is at this stage of development when the emphasis is on acquiring physical skills.

Their growing independence and efforts to become involved in activities are rewarded with lots of praise and encouragement. Encouraging independent skills such as feeding themselves, washing their faces after meal times and dressing themselves, prepare them for the transition into Sunshine room.
